Google Contacts

Google provides a useful tool called Google Contacts for managing Google contacts for Google Documents or Gmail.  When you want to share a Google Document, your contact list will be prepopulated with contacts .  The Google Contact tool also provides a way to import contacts in a .CSV or vCard file. 

A teacher can easily add contacts, such as all of their students, by adding names and email address.  Groups can be created - which allows a teacher to easily share a document or email groups such as  an entire class.  Note: districts using Google Apps for Education may have student names in the system.  They may find the groups creation option helpful.
